HJ75 Build

Fresh off the boat from Australia, this 1985 Landcruiser HJ75 received a light restoration including ARB bumper, powder coated steel wheels with 33x10.50r15 BFG KO2 Tires, interior and exterior detailing.  Below is a preview of the building process involved with building out the rear area by Westboundco

Toyota’s 12H-T engine was sourced to replace the worn out 2h. The Six-Cylinder Turbo Diesel is a welcome replacement over the doggy NA drivetrain. The 12H-T was refreshed with all new gaskets, filters and seals. The engine’s timing is turned by gears, alleviating fear of timing belts or chain failure. There is no computer, the fuel delivery is managed by the same gears allowing a simply wiring harness consisting of less than 10 total wires.

The original Pop-Top canvas was worn - tears and stains throughout with almost no room to move around. A replacement canvas with reimagined shape and stronger fabric was crafted. The new shape allows for more headroom when sleeping above. The fabric is Cordura 500: waterproof and lightweight.

Inside, the original seats and steering wheel were replaced with a set of…”groovy” 1978 Vintage Recaro Spectrum Seats and Nardi Classic 360mm. The originals were stored for future use.
